About the session

Join us as UMHAN member Martyn Brown delivers a Lunch & Learn session in April 2025: an introduction to the Autistic Spectrum, the co-occurrence of Mental Health Difficulties in Autistic Individuals and how to best support Autistic People with Mental Health Difficulties.

The session will focus on how Autism can cause Mental Health Difficulties - if someone is not properly supported and how some traditional models of support may not work (and the reasons for this) for Autistic Adults. 

About the presenter

Martyn Brown is currently the Disability and Mental Health Manager at Kingston University. Martyn previously held posts at London Metropolitan University, Coventry University and the University of Brighton. 

Martyn also worked for the National Autistic Society and Rethink Mental Illness. 

Martyn specialises in working with Neurodivergent individuals, particularly those on the Autistic Spectrum.
