We're excited to be offering this tailored workshop for staff who work with students with mental health conditions.
About the course
This will be an interactive workshop facilitated by Jo Bloxham from Kynfolk. It aims to refresh our understanding of intercultural communication and enhance how we communicate with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. It will explore the cultural factors that might influence students’ (and our own!) communication habits and preferences, and review how we can be clearer communicators and better intercultural listeners.
In the second half of the workshop, we will explore some of the cultural and contextual factors that might impact on engagement with our services, and we will collaboratively look at how we can address some of these.
Who's it aimed at?
Mental Health Advisers, Specialist Mental Health Mentors, Wellbeing Advisers, Counselling staff, Accommodation teams, Disability Advisers, other pastoral support staff.
